Leanne Kelso League is the assistant concertmaster of the\u00a0Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and associate concertmaster of the\u00a0Madison Symphony Orchestra.\u00a0 Leanne was a fellow at the\u00a0New World Symphony\u00a0under Michael Tilson Thomas for three seasons, where she served as concertmaster and principal second. During that time, she also performed at the Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi in Italy for two summers. Performing on both modern and\u00a0 Baroque violin, Leanne appears regularly with the\u00a0Madison Bach Musicians, the Wisconsin Baroque Ensemble\u00a0and the\u00a0Tallahassee Bach Parley. She also performs frequently with the Ancora String Quartet and the UW-Whitewater Piano Trio.\u00a0 Chamber music and orchestral festivals include the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society, AIMS in Austria, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Leanne completed her undergraduate degree at Florida State University, studying violin and baroque violin with Karen Clarke. She earned the master of music degree at UW-Madison, studying with Vartan Manoogian and performing with the Strelow Graduate Quartet. She also studied Harry Alshin and Lynn Blakeslee at the Eastman School of Music. Her playing has been described as \u201cassured and lovely\u201d and \u201cbeautifully crystalline.\u201d\u00a0 Leanne is violin and viola professor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she was named the 2010 Teacher of the Year Award by the Wisconsin chapter of the American String Teachers Association.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
